Colorado’s newest national monument(October 2022) protects the former training grounds of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division, once used to train soldiers in backcountry ski techniques during World War II. Over 53,000 acres have been preserved in the Tenmile and the Camp Hale Areas near Vail, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Ski Cooper. The proclamation pairs historic preservation with prime backcountry recreation.
Candlestick Tower, in Utah’s Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park, is a prominent landmark favored by visitors. It is named after the large sandstone butte that rises from the canyon floor.
Mesa Arch, the prime Utah viewpoint, is located in the “Island in the Sky” region of Canyonlands National Park. We’ve captured the views of these iconic formations in our original design.
