Years of carving through red layers of earth by the Virgin River has created the colorful landscape of Zion National Park. One of the prominent hikes in the area, The Narrows, captures the shadows and desert varnish on the towering canyon walls in true colors of nature. This area is not far from the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell, and other scenic areas along the Grand Staircase Loop of Utah and Arizona.
